Terms of Service
DNS The World LLCEffective Date: 9-01-2025
Last Updated: 9-01-2025
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you (“you,” “your,” or “Customer”) and DNS The World LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By purchasing, using, or accessing our products or services — including any hardware devices, firmware, software, web interfaces, account portals, and subscription services (collectively, the “Services”) — you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About DNS The World LLC
DNS The World LLC sells IP-updater devices (“Devices”) that periodically report the Device’s public IP address to DNS The World’s servers. When configured by an end user, DNS The World’s servers forward that IP information to one or more third-party DNS or related services chosen and set up by the end user (“Third-Party Services”). We provide the Device, the server endpoint, and a mechanism to relay IP updates — we do not operate or control those Third-Party Services.
2. Definitions
Device(s): Hardware sold by DNS The World LLC that reports IP addresses to our server.
Account: The customer record or portal access (if any) used to manage Devices, subscriptions, and settings.
Third-Party Services: External DNS, DNS-provider APIs, or other services the end user configures to receive IP updates.
Customer Data: Any data you transmit to us (including device identifiers and IP addresses).
Payment Data: Payment method metadata (last four digits and expiration date) and processor-issued tokens stored for billing convenience.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and have legal authority to enter these Terms.
4. Description of Services
We sell Devices that detect the Device’s public IP and send that IP to our servers.
We provide an endpoint and forwarding functionality to deliver IP updates to Third-Party Services that you configure.
We offer subscription services for hosted endpoints, premium forwarding, or related features that you may sign up for and manage through your Account.
You are solely responsible for registering for, configuring, and maintaining any Third-Party Services.
5. Orders, Payment, Subscriptions & Billing
All payments are processed securely through Square, Inc. (“Square”), a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor. We do not collect, store, or process full credit card numbers or CVV codes.
When you provide a payment method, Square stores your card information securely and issues us a payment token. We use this token to process purchases, subscription renewals, and refunds.
For your convenience and support purposes, we store limited metadata: the last four (4) digits of your card number and the expiration date. This helps you identify the payment method on file and assists with billing support.
Subscriptions & Recurring Billing: By signing up for a subscription, you authorize us (via Square) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the then-current subscription rate. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date.
Trials & Promotions: Free trials or promotions, if offered, will automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial unless canceled beforehand.
Failed Payments: If a recurring charge fails, we may retry billing and/or suspend your subscription until payment is successful.
Disputes: To dispute a charge, contact us promptly. We will investigate and resolve billing issues in accordance with applicable law.
6. Returns & Refunds
Return Policy: Unused Devices returned within 30 days of delivery may be eligible for a refund, minus shipping and any restocking fee. Customers must pay return shipping.
Defective Devices: Covered under warranty (see Section 13).
Subscriptions: Subscription fees are non-refundable once billed, unless otherwise required by law or explicitly stated in a promotional offer.
7. Account, Setup & Credentials
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and all activity under your account.
You must provide accurate configuration details for forwarding IP updates to your chosen Third-Party Services.
Subscriptions and payment methods can be managed or canceled in your Account dashboard or by contacting support. Cancelation stops future charges but does not refund past charges unless otherwise stated.
8. Customer Responsibilities
Ensure Devices are compatible with your network and installed properly.
Configure router/firewall settings as required.
Register and configure any Third-Party Services you wish to integrate.
Do not use Devices or Services for unlawful, abusive, or disruptive activities.
9. Third-Party Services
You are solely responsible for selecting, configuring, and maintaining Third-Party Services.
We are not responsible for the reliability, security, or performance of those services.
10. Software, Firmware & Updates
Devices may include firmware/software subject to updates.
By using the Devices, you consent to receiving automatic updates.
11. Privacy & Data
We collect Device identifiers, IP addresses, limited payment metadata (last 4 digits and expiration), and Square-issued tokens to provide Services and billing.
Square stores and processes sensitive payment details securely.
See our Privacy Policy [link] for full details.
12. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, software, firmware, and documentation are owned by DNS The World LLC or its licensors.
13. Warranty & Disclaimers
Limited Warranty: Devices are warranted against substantial defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from delivery. This does not cover misuse, unauthorized modifications, or improper installation.
Disclaimer: Except as expressly stated, Devices and Services are provided “as is” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
14. Limitation of Liability
DNS The World LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Device(s) in the 12 months before the claim.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DNS The World LLC from claims arising from your use of the Devices, Services, or Third-Party Services.
16. Export & Compliance
You must comply with all applicable export laws and regulations.
17. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.
18. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted with a new “Last Updated” date.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut.
20. Miscellaneous
Severability: If one provision is invalid, the rest remain enforceable.
Waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of rights.
Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.
